We spent most of the day at Stanley Park. It was a very large park with a lovely beach to play in at the end.
On Monday afternoon, we boarded the Coral Princess! The ship was huge and so beautiful. I knew it would be big but wow! It was fun getting to explore the ship and all it had to offer.
Here we are sitting under the grand staircase.
First stop: Ketchikan, AK!
Ketchikan was a cute little town. It was obviously geared toward the tourists but it was fun to visit. Our favorite thing to do here: Watch the hundreds and hundreds of salmon swimming in the bay! There were so many fish - we couldn't believe it! Paul was super sad he didn't have his pole but we had a great time watching them.
This was a little shopping part of the city where local merchants sold their products.
Next Stop: Juneau, AK!
While in Juneau, we took a trolley to the top of Mount Roberts. While up there, we enjoyed the incredible view. There were many gorgeous hiking trails as well. It was one of our favorite days of the trip!!
Our favorite night, however, happened on the way from Ketchikan to Juneau. I went out on our balcony to enjoy the sunset when I saw some peculiar "smoke" in the distance. I went inside and told Paul that I thought something was smoking out in the ocean. To my excitement, he informed me that it was, in fact, whales!!! He first had thought it was dolphins because we had convinced ourselves that it couldn't be whales. It was incredible to see the many humpback whales gracing us with their presence :) A few nights later, we saw more humpback whales and even some killer whales! So neat!!!
Skagway was next on the schedule for the cruise.
It was a very small village with not much to do. It was very pretty b
ut not our favorite.
Before disembarking the cruise ship in Whittier, we traveled into glacier country. Our ship sailed into Glacier Bay and College Fjord for some close-ups of the unbelievable glaciers. They were so majestic - unlike anything we had ever seen!! We didn't get to see any pieces of the glaciers break apart but we did see many icebergs floating around in the water. A little eerie but really cool!!
Overall, our honeymoon was amazing! Even with our slight delay in getting home (we got stuck in Anchorage!!), we had an incredible time!!!!!!!!!!!!
