Fall is in the Air

Our first full week of classes and sessions is coming to an end tomorrow. We've already learned so much - more than we could have ever imagined learning in 4 days!!! But we're very thankful for this opportunity and are so glad to be here :)

Here are Paul and I on our way to dinner...at 5:00. That's right, we eat dinner from 5-6 pm. That's pretty early for us. We feel as though our day revolves around the cafeteria. It see
ms like we are always eating but when the cafeteria is only open for one hour intervals during the day, you better eat then...or not at all!

We can often be caught eating cereal for dinner. We find that it helps us to identify with the children around us....but, the real reason is that sometimes, it just looks the most appealing.

We thought some of you might be interested in seeing where we live. Here is our building:

We live on the second floor of the left-most building, approximately in the middle of the building. The building to the right is called a quad. Many people live in those here; they have a common living area with four small apartments containing a bathroom, 1-2 bedrooms, and a little kitchen area. Our group is so large that some of us have to stay in the dorms (left building). It is pretty small but cozy. We don't mind so much. Here is our room:

This is our bedroom. Click on the picture to make it larger and check out the beautiful trees out the window. We have a great view of the woods and a river. The leaves are changi
ng and are so gorgeous. However, we must enjoy them now because they are quickly accumulating on the ground.

Below, is a view from our door looking in. There is a full bathroom to the right with a sink and mirror right outside the door.

Just down the hall from us is a laundry room for our floor. It has four washer/dryer combos. I did all of our laundry last weekend in just under 2 hours. It was amazing!!!
There is also a little kitchen area in this room. It has a small fridge, stove, oven and sink. We don't use it but it's there :)

It has been very cold here during the day. Not too bad in the sun but then the wind blows. It is such a bitter wind!!! We are looking forward to the time change this weekend so it will be easier to wake up in the mornings. It's so dark in the mornings. Hope ya'll have a Happy Halloween!!!
