One year ago today, we stepped off the plane into this foreign land. We didn't know how to communicate and we blindly trusted in the plan. After a week of jet-lag that (seemed to last for a month), we entered into a regular schedule of school, learning this strange language called Arabic. We have successfully learned to decipher words from things that look a lot like squiggles, although sometimes we still don't understand what we read. 365 days later, we have learned how to make friends and people can
usually understand us...as long as we are talking about things we've learned well, that is. We've laughed at ourselves, we've laughed at the culture; been frustrated at language, as well as the culture; we've traveled to new places, tasted new things, and met many new people. Thanks for following along on this journey we've been on. Perhaps this next year will contain even more adventures and experiences!!!
