Hello All! Just wanted to update you on a few things that we did this week. We are starting to get back to a normal routine of things as I am beginning to feel great and gain energy back. Here are a few random things from our week.
This past month, the trash men of our city have decided that they need more money to continue working...so a strike of sorts has ensued. Here is a look at the trash bins in front of our house after a day and a half without pick-up. The trash bins all over the city have been looking worse, only getting serviced about once a week. Our trash is significantly less than in other parts of the city because our neighborhood "hall monitor" (if you will) has good rapport with many people in the city and has been able to convince them to pick up our trash more often.

Our city is undergoing a HUGE construction project to add a tramway system on the roads throughout the entire city. It's going to be nice once it's completed, I'm sure, but for now...it's a mess! Since we arrived a year and a half ago (!) it's been crazy: Traffic is re-routed every direction, bus routes are thrown off and roads are completely closed sometimes. Recently, however, we have seen major improvements in parts of the city and things are looking up. They even have a Tram in one part of the city for excitement purposes. It's Beautiful! We are hoping to take a ride before our time here is up...but I don't think that'll happen! The

photo to the right is of some of the tracks in the city; the photo to the left is the actual tramcar; the photo below is a picture of what the tram will look like - swanky huh?!

And, lastly, we gave Cairo a haircut today using the clippers. She was such a good girl...mostly because of all the peanut butter she was getting to eat. She looks so cute!!! It makes her look like a little puppy again. We are reminded just how much hair she has when we cut it all off! Hopefully this will cool her down as the hot summer months are approaching.
That is all for now. On Friday, we will officially be 12 weeks pregnant so I will begin posting baby news along with our regular posts. Be looking for that in a couple of days! Peace.
