Two years ago today Paul and I got married!!! We can't believe it's already been 2 years - but we've enjoyed every minute of it! Since we've been married, we've lived in 2 different states (NM, VA) and 2 countries, visited Alaska, Canada, Spain, Wash. DC and North Africa with Italy just around the corner, experiencing a lot more than we could have imagined! We are so blessed and thankful for what we are doing. Thanks for joining us along the way!

Pictured above, is the two of us on August 31 every year. The first being our wedding day...our first anniversary was spent in the mountains of Santa Fe, camping out with a group of friends. It turned out to be a crazy trip...but memorable none-the-less! This year, we celebrated a couple days early so we could spend the weekend at a swanky hotel in our city. The sweet hotel was a huge step up from last year's soggy, mouse-friendly (yuck) tent in the woods.
With it being R'dan and all, Paul planned this romantic getaway in our city since we know how things operate here during this month. Now, don't laugh, but we ordered Pizza Hut (I know, lame...but we look at Pizza Hut as a 5 star restaurant here. Plus, it's one of the only restaurants open for dinner for the foreigners!), roamed around the hotel, went out for ice cream on the river, and watched a lot of CNN and BBC News. It's interesting how our idea fun changes based on circumstance. Those were the only 2 channels in English and we haven't watched live TV in very long time. Paul did very well planning the weekend and surprising me!
We also had one more surprise this weekend. Upon checking out of our hotel, we got a phone call that a puppy was looking for a home. We went to look at pictures of this dog, thought she was cute and agreed to meet her. The family was immediately called to bring the puppy to us. She was such a cutie and we couldn't leave her! So, meet Cairo!

Isn't she cute?! She's been really good so far and is so playful. My favorite part: she doesn't even whine at night - she just falls asleep when the lights go out. Her fave spot to sleep is not in her comfy bed that we made for her...it's under our bed on the hard tile floor. Go figure...

Cairo is 4 months old, weighs 3 kg (about 6 pounds) and is such a lady :) She acts much like a toddler - when she's really tired, just before she crashes she becomes such a pill, chewing on everything and being so bratty. Then, she crashes out for a while. We are really enjoying her so far!!!
